Fresh

Having fresh and clear skin has been a priority for me ever since my teenage years. As much as I love adorning my face with makeup (current fav: Urban Decay Naked Palette. Officially obsessed!), feeling confident enough to step outside the house sans makeup is most definitely a luxury.

Despite my skin goals, up until last week I had never had a facial. As someone with oily/combination skin, I never thought it would be appropriate for my skin type.  Now however, I wish I had tried one sooner!

My first ever facial was at the Jurlique Store at Macquarie Centre and was such a relaxing, eye opening experience. Welcoming me in to their treatment room with warm tea and relaxing music, I was talked through the process that was directly tailored to my needs. The next hour of the Signature Facial was divine.  My skin felt fresh and clean and my muscles relaxed, thanks to the amazing head, neck and arm massage. Not only did I leave feeling utterly chilled, I was all the more knowledgeable of my skin's needs after having it examined under a special light. As well as feeling soft and clean, my skin also looked immediately brighter and smoother - a most welcome change!

Thank you to Invisible Thread PR and the Jurlique girls for the lovely experience!

My new skin routine is as follows (I'll update you on the progress in the coming months!):

Sunday Love

Sunday's are usually reserved for sleep-in's and lazy brunches, re-energising for the week ahead.
This Sunday however, was pretty jam-packed but definitely a lovely way to spend a crisp Autumn day.

Brittany and I caught an early ferry ride to Manly for the Vine Apparel Pop Up Event at the Manly Skiff Club. We snuck in a quick avo on toast with coffee at Showbox Cafe (their ancient seeds and grain bread is amazingggggg), before walking over to the lovely beach front location. We were greeted with the cutest spread of Emma & Tom juices, plenty of fresh fruit and my personal favourite, mini bacon & zucchini slices - I need a recipe to recreate these at home! Also featured in the spread were La Maison De L'eclairs - they were so gorgeous (and instagram-able!), topped with icing in cute colours and edible sparkles. I also walked away purchasing the most comfy jeans imaginable (I'm not a jeans person, so I'm forever on the look out for the perfect pair) and a jacket/poncho/blanket combo that will 100% come in handy on days too cold to leave the house
Thanks to Collabosaurus for organising such a fab event!

Post the Vine Apparel event I headed straight to my friends birthday lunch at The Winery in Surry Hills, finishing up with a coconut nitrogen ice cream at Azoto, which is most definitely a must try! My outfit to get me to and from multiple events consisted on a few favourites - my new Zara jumper, well-worn Glassons leather shorts, my Acne boots and PS11 bag.

Till next weekend!

#MBFWA Photo Diary

Fashion week flew by in a flurrry of shows and coffee, dodging impromtu photoshoots and, by the end of the week - sore feet (Though I must admit deciding to break in my brand new Acne Pistols during Fashion Week may have been the culprit)!
Here is my mini photo diary of my favourite fashion moments and #OOTDs.

From top to bottom:

Day One, ready with my media pass and these cute Vittoria coffee cups.

Watson x Watson was on point with flashes of wearable denim, sparkly anklets and those clogs.

Day One, wearing SASS distressed top (Available here), Skirt from France, One Teaspoon leather jacket, Acne Pistols, Proenza Schouler PS11, Prada sunglasses (available from Sunglass Hut).

Day Two wearing, H&M Collection tee, Uniqlo Boutique shorts (available here).

Rose petal finale at Jayson Brunsdon.

The most amazing Rekordelig cocktails at their Fashion Week #Rekordeligseasons dinner (the bar tender was flown in from Sweden!).

Mid Fashion Week coffee's with fellow bloggers Belinda and Brittany at The Shortlist, Redfern.

The beautiful industrial set was the perfect fit for Jennifer Kate - lusting over those pale blues.

#OOTD Day 4, wearing Sabo Skirt Dress, Cheap Monday denim jacket, Prada Sunglasses via Sunglass Hut, Proenza Schouler bag, Acne boots.

More post-show coffees with my Fashion Week partner in crime, Brittany Daisy.

A wall of coffee cups - my kind of art installation!

What a week - see you next year #MBFWA!

Autumn Feels

Winter definitely wins the crown for the most complained about season. As we start to pack away bikini’s and beach towels in exchange for beanies and coats, out come the grumbles about the incoming cold and overcast days.

Whilst these winter moans are all warranted (even with our comparably mild Aussie winters!), there are plenty of aspects of the cooler season worth embracing. Think piles of blankets and Sunday sleep ins. Nights in with TV marathons and plenty of hot tea. Warming chilled skin with fresh coffee and fleecy, cozy jumpers.

To help me appreciate these lovely moments, I like to stock up with a Bonds winter basics checklist. High up on the list are plenty of knits, grey sloppy joes and chunky socks. Having these items at your disposal will prepare you both for cuddling up on the couch and for heading out into that crisp winter air.
